The federal government has repatriated 153 stranded Nigerians from Chad under the Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) Programme facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The returnees were received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Operations Office. A light aircraft carrying 12 people, including foreign tourists, crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff from the Diani airstrip in Kenya’s coastal Kwale County on Tuesday morning. Hoodlums suspected to be drug barons have attacked a combined team of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and army personnel in Edo State. An officer of the NDLEA reportedly sustained injury in the attack that occurred at Ukpuje town, Owan West Local Government Area of the state.
