The Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked Rep Abubakar Gummi, for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC). Gummi, represents Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency of Zamfara in the House of Representatives. Justice Obiora Egwuatu, in a judgment, restrained the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, from further recognising Gummi as member representing Gummi/ Bukkuyum Federal Constituency. Justice Egwuatu also made an order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission. The death toll from Hurricane Melissa rose Thursday to nearly 50 people, officials said, after the ferocious storm devastated Caribbean islands and was bearing down on Bermuda. Flooding was expected to subside in the Bahamas, although high water could persist in Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti and neighbouring Dominican Republic, the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released names of candidates shortlisted for the paramilitary agencies recruitment Computer Based Test (CBT).
