The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised Nigeria’s economic growth forecast for 2025 to 3.9 per cent, a 0.5 percentage point increase from its earlier projection. The Fund attributed the improved outlook to stronger macroeconomic stability, rising investor confidence, and increased oil output. The upward revision was announced on Tuesday during the presentation of the IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook report at the ongoing World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C. Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has died in India, Indian police said Wednesday. He was aged 80. “The death is confirmed,” Krishnan M, additional superintendent of police in India’s southern state of Kerala, told AFP. “The Kenyan national was on a walk with his sister, daughter, and a personal doctor when he suddenly collapsed. An Indian police security officer and a Kenyan security officer were also with them at the time. Some gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a truck driver, Tobi Oluwatuyi, along the Akure-Owo Expressway at Ilu Abo in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The incident, which occurred on Friday, was said to have caused panic in the community where the incident happened.
