Leading financial services provider Coronation has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable wealth creation by returning as the title sponsor of the Coronation Silver Cup at the 2025 Lagos International Polo Tournament.

The tournament, set to run from January 23 to February 23, is one of the most prestigious sporting events in Africa, attracting elite players and distinguished guests from across the continent and beyond. The Coronation Silver Cup, the centrepiece of the competition, will take place from February 18 to 23, while the Open Cup and the Majekodunmi Cup will feature thrilling matchups throughout the tournament.

Speaking at the press conference to unveil the tournament schedule, Olugbile Holloway, representing the President of the Nigeria Polo Association, noted the significance of this year’s event:

“This year’s tournament is set to be a landmark edition, with an impressive lineup of international players. With strong partners, we are ensuring a world-class experience that upholds the sport’s heritage and prestige.”

Coronation’s sponsorship of the tournament aligns with its broader mission of providing transformational solutions for Africa’s challenges. Commenting on the company’s continued support, Paul Abiagam, MD/CEO of Coronation Merchant Bank, stated:
“At Coronation, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals and businesses to build lasting prosperity. Our sponsorship of the Lagos Polo Tournament reflects this commitment to excellence, innovation, and long-term financial growth.”

Polo enthusiasts can expect fierce competition and an elevated spectator experience, with some of the sport’s finest talents vying for top honours. Tournament organisers have also introduced new fan engagement activities and premium hospitality experiences to enhance the event.

As Coronation continues to establish itself as Africa’s leading financial ecosystem, its investment in sports, arts, and culture demonstrates a broader vision of empowering communities and fostering sustainable development.

The 2025 Lagos International Polo Tournament promises to be a thrilling celebration of tradition and excellence, with Coronation once again at the heart of the action.
