Big 5 Construct Nigeria will welcome more than 9,000 visitors and over 150 exhibitors from 20 countries next week in Lagos for three days of sourcing, networking, business making and knowledge sharing. As the event connects buyers with manufacturers, suppliers and service providers, it builds on the opportunities in Nigeria’s $128 billion construction market.

This year the event hosts a score of new exhibiting companies from many different countries.


Some of the renowned international brands showcasing their products, services and solutions for the first time at Big 5 Construct Nigeria, include Schneider Electric, a French multinational corporation that specializes in digital automation; Swiss Krono, a leading supplier of wood-based interior design, flooring and building materials; and Framecad International, A UAE-based leader of steel framing building innovation; Saint Gobain, a French light and sustainable construction giant; are Peri Formwork, a manufacturer and supplier of formwork and scaffolding systems and Bosch, a German multinational engineering and technology company.

Commenting on their participation, Samson Ajayi, Country Business Manager, Bosch Nigeria said: “For the first time, Bosch Nigeria will participate in Big 5 Construct Exhibition, where we’ll showcase the GWS 30-230 from our Power Tools division—a new angle grinder engineered specifically for heavy-duty construction applications. We’ll also feature the GRL 600 rotational laser from our Measuring Tools section, offering 360° precision, along with a selection of accessories and our latest car technologies, all designed to meet specific needs of construction activities.”

Amongst local players presenting their expertise and solutions for the first time at the event; Scavin, a plastics solutions provider; Cormart Nigeria, a leading supplier of chemical raw materials; African Industries, the largest steel manufacturing company in Nigeria; Savvytech, an engineering and procurement service provider; Purechem Industries, Nigeria’s leading green building products company; and Vitapur Nigeria, an insulation manufacturing leader.

Driving practical learning at CPD-certified Big 5 Talks

Much anticipated by Big 5 community, this year’s 25 CPD-certified Big 5 Talks under the themes of architecture & design, facilities management, project management, cost and commercial management, technology and sustainability, feature more than 45 speakers over all three days. Some of the prominent speakers at this year’s Big 5 Construct Nigeria event include: Ibikunle Dashur, President & CEO at Construct Mache Group, Gerald Madondo, Country Director – Nigeria, Turner & Townsend and Eniafe Enianu Emmanuel, Builder & Project Manager, Encon Sharon Engineering Services.

Participants can look forward to engaging discussions and insights on several key topics that are crucial for the advancement of the construction sector. In one of the sessions, Taiwo Aiyepe, Assistant Chief Architect, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure will explore the significance of urban green infrastructure in mitigating flooding in Lagos, a city prone to severe flooding challenges.

Another session will see Emmanuel Adejo, Commercial Director, Sazak Acres Biloque Company (SABC) delve into the common pitfalls leading to project failures in construction. with moderator Oluwalobamise Orafidiya, Construction Manager, PMI Nigeria Chapter.

Speakers including Martin Uche, Head of Data, Research & Business Analysis, Spacefinish Africa; Obrasua Esther Akobo, Construction Professional, Regional Lead, Women in BIM; Quasim Adedolapo, Founder, Academy for Digital Learning and Mastery Studio; and Yusuf Olaniyi, Civil Engineer and Industry Specialist will sit on a panel discussing technology, innovation and startups in the AEC industry alongside moderator Kehinde Ayobade, Founder, KS Digital Innovations.
