Igbimo Asoju Yoruba, a socio-cultural group in Yoruba land, has called on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to investigate the actions of Sheik Gumi, an Islamic cleric who has offered to negotiate with bandits in Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the convener, Chief George Olufemi Ogunjimi, the group condemned Gumi’s actions, stating that his actions are not in the best interest of the country. Gumi’s willingness to negotiate with bandits sends a wrong message and undermines the efforts of the government and security agencies in combating insecurity in the country.

Igbimo Asoju Yoruba believes that Sheik Gumi’s actions need to be thoroughly investigated to determine his motives and ensure that he is not aiding and abetting criminal activities. The group calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a devout and devoted leader of our generation to take necessary actions to hold Sheik Gumi accountable for his actions.

Moreover, the group wants serious action to be taken against security officials whose lackadaisical attitude allowed the binance officials to escape from detention and flew abroad in their bid to escape justice for the damages done to the Nigerian economy and livelihoods of many citizens.

“ We want all public and civil servants to join hands with the President in rescuing the nation’s ship from wreckage”
It further admonished.

The group also advised the President to work more on security in the country as different cases of kidnapping recently in the country is getting out of hands and the group also applauded Tinubu over the release of the 200 school girls kidnapped.

Igbimo Asoju Yoruba remains committed to promoting peace and security in Nigeria and will continue to advocate for the protection of lives and property of all citizens.
