First Lady, Remi Tinubu Echoes Primate Ayodele’s Advice, Suggests Capital Punishment For Kidnappers

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has corroborated Primate Ayodele’s advice to the federal government on the effective punishment to give kidnappers and terrorists.

The first lady who reacted to reports of 200 women who were kidnapped in Borno State, and over 280 pupils and teachers kidnapped in Kaduna State made it known that capital punishment should be given to anyone caught in the act of kidnapping.

She described kidnappers as cowards while urging state governors to work on capital punishment for them in order to curb the act across the country.

‘’Enough is enough and I call on the state governors that once we take hold of them, they deserve capital punishment. Why don’t they take people their size? Why are they torturing our children? What they are trying to do is kill our future.’’

“We all know parents, when we are old we rely on our children. Why would you go and take them from schools? Right now, I think enough is enough. As a former lawmaker, I believe that any one of them captured deserves capital punishment.’’

It would be recalled that Primate Ayodele in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin last month called on the federal government to enact capital punishment for anyone caught in the act of kidnapping. He mentioned that such punishment would make it easy for kidnapping to come to an end in the country.

These were his words

’If the government is genuine about ending kidnapping and insecurity, death sentences should be enacted for kidnappers and terrorists in the country. They should kill anyone caught in these devilish acts. They need quick judgment to curb.

‘’If the government continues to pamper them, insecurity will continue to increase and I see that top officials will be kidnapped. ‘’

Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s call for the same advice Primate Ayodele offered the government shows that the most effective decision the government can make is to enact capital punishment for terrorists, especially kidnappers.

On a larger scale, this also underscores the importance of Primate Ayodele’s divine counsel in the country. Since President Tinubu emerged, the man of God has shared several pieces of advice on different sectors especially security and economy.
