COVID-19: 27 Deaths Reported As 1,114 New Cases Push Nigeria’s Total Above 128,000

Nigeria on Friday night reported 1,114 new COVID-19 cases from across the country which took the total to 128,674 while 27 fatalities were reported for the day, according to latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The NCDC update, gathered from 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and made public via its verified Twitter handle, @NCDCgov, shows that Lagos, FCT, Plateau, Ondo and Kaduna recorded the highest number of new infections for the day.

The update also shows that a total of 1,269 persons recovered from the virus and were discharged, taking the total number persons who have recovered from the disease since February 27 2020 till date to 102,780 while 27 deaths were recorded for the day, taking the death toll to 1,577.

The breakdown of the update is as follows:
