As the entire world unites to defeat the global pandemic of COVID-19 also known as Corona Virus, we all at Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) wish to remind us all of the popular saying that “prevention is better than cure”. In the light of this, we want to implore us all to kindly abide by the declaration of both the Federal and State Government which is aimed at containing and ensuring the pandemic does not hit our people as much as it did the first time.

Also the hygienic and sanitary rules may appear very basic and simple but it has been proven to be the steps to take, to prevent getting infected. Hence, it is for our own good to stay safe by ensuring that we always wash our hands at all times with soap and water, alcohol based hand sanitizers, disinfecting wipes and drinking enough water from time to time is also very paramount.

We want us all to know that the greatest asset of any tier of government or management/organization is its people. Therefore, be rest assured that as Ebola was defeated collectively, this new global pandemic will be defeated as soon as possible with our collective effort and compliance.

Health is wealth (ìlera lógún ọrọ)! May sickness never use our homes as abode (Amin Aṣẹ Èdùmàrè).

Omo Yoruba ni mi, Omo Kaaro o jiire!
