Doxology Music Ministry: The Ministry And The Newly Released Single – Halleluyah

The convener of Doxology Ministry, Reverend Oluseun Okuboye speaks with our correspondent.

He speaks about Music, Christian Ministry, newly released album.

You are born into which family?

I am born into Okuboye family, Rev Apostle Dr E.O Okuboye is my father a man of God and retired medical disperser and my mother is Rev Mother Olufunmilayo Okuboye a business woman.

As we know, education is the best legacy, tell us about your educational background

I was privileged to attend Primary and secondary school and further to Federal college of Education Osiele where l studied Fine and Applied Art and graduated in 1996 after a little break l then further to University of Nigeria Nsukka where l studied the same course and graduated in year 2004.

Let’s talk about music, how did you come about music?

It is God’s given, l grew up having passion for music and this was corroborated by the classical performances of my church choir United Spiritual Church Cathedral, l got inspired by them and the gift got ignited, l love to mention some individuals that l tap inspiration from, Rev Lekan Sopein, late Bro Dapo Adebesin, late Pastor Babatunde Akinsola and Rev Prophet Oluwafemi Olayori, l won’t forget my coach and Father. He love to be simply called Baba Kay (Rev on Organ Kayode Sopein). That was how l was home groomed.

What prompted your Music Ministry?

I have a divine direction on this for over fifteen years, it was initially named JESUS FANS, that was solely handled and my commitment to my choir overshadowed it, but it is an independent call, when l was led again by the spirit of the Lord to make a name that will glorify him as my ministry, the Lord led me to DOXOLOGY which simply mean an act of praising God,

Its basically a ministry to let people praise God with life’s that worthy of His praise, to be just and faithful and make holiness a watchword as it is in Psalm 24 vs 3-5

“3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

5. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

To praise and get favour from Him your life must be worthy of His praise.

The ministry was officially unveiled last year February 29th, 2020 in a programme tagged PRAISE BANQUET, another edition was just held on Sunday February 21st, 2021 tagged CLUBBING FOR CHRIST and we are on course by the special grace of God.

When talking about Christian Music Ministry, who are the people you are seeing as lead role models?

I just mention some of my models above those are from my local Church, outside my Church circle PANAM PERCY PAUL and NATHANIEL BASSY are my models.

What are the challenges facing Christian Music Industry?

The present generation has been prototyped to the worldly life, and most christian music don’t have headway unless they pattern along with it. It only take grace and power of God to stand firmly without wavering.

Your Ministry just released a single album, can you tell us about it?

HALLELUYAH is the title, l was just going through my phone and l saw a post from my blood brother of a song performed by kanye west, it was just the Halleluyah part. Immediately my spirit ignited to it. As l was meditating and seek the face of God for the song, every other lines begin to fall in place. I was lifted in my spirit as l am now because it is not me, it is from above.

I got wonderful testimonies within 24hrs of the released intact still counting. I bless the Lord the father of light for this.
