It was another significant milestone and a long walk to academic excellence, so to speak, as Ameh Emmanuel is officially a PhD scholar in Political Science, awarded at the University of Ibadan’s 2025  Convocation.

His journey to this accomplishment has been a long and challenging one, and he celebrated this achievement alongside fellow graduates at the well-attended 2025 “all-academic gown” event held at the University of Ibadan, in the
Department of European Studies.

Hail from the Idoma community in the Ette township of Igbo, Eze, North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Ameh Emmanuel, now a PhD holder, shared his joyous moments with journalists. He described his academic journey as one of resilience and hard work, encouraging fellow scholars to remain focused on their goals:

“It is a glorious day; I received my PhD today, February 14th, 2025,” he expressed.

“I am incredibly excited and give all the glory to God. I dedicate this achievement to my family, who endured my absence due to my studies despite facing numerous challenges.

“Honestly, it was a tough road, but today, I stand here as a qualified PhD holder, and I am truly happy. All my efforts have been crowned by God Almighty, to whom I return all glory.

“I also cannot forget the support and encouragement of my wife, which has been invaluable. The rest is history.

“I could not have achieved this without my family. She is more than just a wife to me.

“My message to aspiring youth is this: do not lose hope. Work diligently in everything you do and leave the rest in God’s hands. Thank you.”

Ameh Emmanuel’s thesis, titled “Presidential and Parliamentary Government Systems and Individual Insecurity in Nigeria,” was submitted to
the department of political science
University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in the
Department of European Studies of the University. His research was supervised by Prof. Olubodun O.O. This thesis fulfilled the requirements for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Political Science at the convocation ceremony.
