The Platform for Educators and Private Owners of Schools (PEPSO) joined the global community to celebrate International Teachers’ Day with a series of grand events. The organization honored its dedicated teachers with a variety of activities including a march-past, games like “Pick the Balls,” and lively dance performances.

During her address to the teachers, Dr. Comfort Otegbeye, National President of PEPSO, Lagos State Chapter, emphasized the pivotal role of education in shaping the world. “Education is the bedrock of the world. We are changemakers, and we are here to explore and transform the world,” she declared. Dr. Otegbeye encouraged teachers within PEPSO to avoid stagnation and strive to become better researchers and goal-setters in their pursuit of excellence.

PEPSO’s Ambassador, Mufutahu Lawal, praised the resilience, passion, and innovative approaches of the teachers. He acknowledged their tireless efforts and highlighted the vital role they play in shaping the minds of future leaders, while also contributing to the success of school owners.

Mrs. Erelu Ajoke Adeyemi, a member of the Board of Trustees, expressed gratitude for the smooth running of the program and urged teachers to remain focused and dedicated. She emphasized that those who serve diligently will undoubtedly be rewarded for their efforts.

The National General Secretary of PEPSO, Mr Oladayo

Soremekun stressed the significance of teachers as the “master keys” of education, recognizing their unparalleled sacrifice and resilience. He advised teachers to be patient with their students, assuring them that their dedication would eventually be reciprocated.

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the association, Comrade John A. Idogho, called on teachers to embrace professionalism and become more dynamic in their teaching methods. “You cannot give what you don’t have, and you cannot have what you don’t strive for,” he remarked.

Prof. Durodola, Vice President of PEPSO, encouraged teachers to continue delivering their responsibilities with diligence and dedication. He commended their hard work, stating that the day was specially set aside to honor and recognize their contributions.

The National Public Relations Officer and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Olusola Suzan, while granting interview with LEADNEWS crew, he  urged teachers to stay committed to building future leaders. He also advised them to be more technology-driven and open to continuous improvement.

One of the participating teachers, Mrs. Obiageli Onkwusi, expressed her gratitude for the recognition, pledging to remain committed to her work. She lauded the association for its show of support and encouragement.

The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm among the teachers, who left feeling motivated and honored for their contributions to education.
